Radiolab live

On Tuesday, I went on Twitter and saw that KCRW was advertising a chance to win free tickets to the Radiolab show "Darkness". Radiolab tells incredible stories and edits them with phenomenal sound and effects, interweaving science, story-telling, and music.

Not only did I win tickets, but I also got two tickets to hang out with the hosts, comedian Demetri Martin, and the dancers. It felt too awkward to talk to any of them, but the show itself was incredible.  The topic was darkness. They explained through dance, humor, stories, and physical reconstructions -  how eyes evolved from the first notion of an eye to the current human eye. We also heard how two different men deal with blindness - one who refuses to visualize his wife or child because he thinks his visualization would be dishonest - and another man who claims he has nearly perfected the ability to visualize his surroundings using information, sound, smell, and touch.
